Meet our Team

Dr. Chiang has over 25 years of experience in drug discovery and cancer research. He most recently served as Vice President at eFFECTOR Therapeutics overseeing translational science on the tomivosertib and zotatifin clinical programs. He was formerly Executive Director, Head of Biology at Erasca, Inc., and before that, held the position of Executive Director, Cancer Biology at eFFECTOR, where he led pre-clinical and translational efforts on the tomivosertib and eIF4E programs. Prior to eFFECTOR, Dr. Chiang was Senior Group Leader, Oncology Discovery at AbbVie. Earlier in his career, Dr. Chiang was a research assistant professor at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute following a NIH-NRSA postdoctoral fellowship. He completed his Ph.D. in Biology at the University of California, San Diego / Salk Institute for Biological Studies and he received his B.S. with distinction in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dietmar is a licensed medical and board-certified clinical pharmacologist dedicated to translating knowledge between research and clinical practice with an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset. With over 30 years of experience in the global pharmaceutical industry, he has held various expert and executive management positions in Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Development, and Project Management. He provides senior leadership built on scientific principles and medical ethics, and he is dedicated to advancing pharmacotherapy to a new level to enable personalised medicine for the benefit of patients.
